This project had many moving parts: initial site surveys, specialized sub-250g drone flights to safely capture aerial progression, and the creation of a complete suite of video assets designed to drive future sales for their business.

Setting the Scene: Equipment & Prep

As with every professional video shoot, preparation and the right gear are essential. We chose the Sony Cinema Line FX30 for its cinematic quality, making it ideal for capturing sharp, detailed close-ups of tile work and finishing touches. For the aerials, we specifically utilize the DJI Mini 5 Pro drone. Because this system weighs under 250 grams, we can safely, legally, and quickly capture sweeping overhead site progression within Calgary city limits without the delays of commercial permit and licensing requirements. To ensure the visuals were matched by pristine audio, we used a Sennheiser MKE 600 shotgun mic and a Zoom F3 recorder to capture the immersive ambient sounds of the water and on-site team narration.

Capturing the Transformation

The true impact of this narrative lies in the stark contrast between the "before" and "after." Using the drone to document the initial baseline gave us incredible tracking shots that set up a perfect reveal later on. As the installation progressed over the following weeks, we returned to document each major construction milestone. In post-production, we dedicated hours to meticulous color correction and grading to ensure a consistent, premium look across changing outdoor lighting conditions, ensuring the final footage matched the luxury of the Pentarm brand.
